Caliber of weapons is expressed with a decimal point (no leading zero), followed by numerals. When preceding and modifying a noun, use a hyphen.

EXAMPLE:
+ A .22-caliber bullet was removed from the shoulder.
+ A .32 pistol was found by the victim.
